2027: APC removes Delta speakers, disqualifies 36 people

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta has approved the Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Mr. Dennis Guwor, and 45 others for the Assembly primary elections in the state.

The party announced this after a two-day screening of candidates at the APC Secretariat in Asaba.

The screening committee released the results in a statement signed by its Chairman, Dr. Uche Uzochukwu, and Secretary, Dr. Chiedozie Nwafor, and available to journalists on Wednesday in Asaba,

According to the committee, 82 candidates appeared before the panel ahead of the party’s primaries.

It was revealed that 46 candidates qualified after detailed verification of credentials and eligibility requirements.

However, the committee disqualified 36 candidates for alleged irregularities and violations of party guidelines.

It was explained that Guwor emerged as the only candidate allowed into South West Warri.

Three lawmakers from the eighth Assembly who sought to renew their mandate also qualified in the APC primaries.

They include Manager Funyei (Bomadi), Harry Trakirlowei (Patani) and Orode Uduaghan (Warri North).
