Wike a Makinde: Your presidential ambition is dead on arrival

Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike has rejected the alleged alliance between the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Allied Peoples Movement (APM).

Wike, national leader of the PDP faction, on Thursday told journalists after inspecting the 13 kilometer road project from Gomani to Yangoje in Kwali Area Council, Abuja, that the narrative was simply a political imagination.

He said both the PDP and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) were unaware of the existence of such an alliance.

“There is no alliance between PDP and APM or any other political party, as the case may be. INEC also knows that there is nothing called PDP-APM alliance.

“Ongoing political activities within the PDP, including screening of candidates, clearly showed that the party remained independent and did not enter into any coalition agreement.

“The PDP has presented a presidential candidate. Pay attention to who will be presented to INEC and see if there is something called PDP-APM,” he added.

The minister further said that Thursday’s meeting in Ibadan was facilitated by Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State to pursue his personal presidential ambition under the platform of APM.

“What we have is for Makinde to join the APM so that he can realize his presidential ambition, which is already dead on arrival,” the minister said.
