An Ado Ekiti court has remanded 11 men in custody for 30 days over an alleged plot to disrupt Saturday’s APC House of Representatives primaries in Ekiti II North Federal Constituency.

Chief Magistrate Adeosun granted the order on Friday on an ex parte motion filed by the Ekiti State Police Command.

Police said the suspects were being held at the Ado Ekiti Correctional Center as investigations continued into allegations of conspiracy and political violence.

On Friday the 11 men were paraded in front of the state police headquarters.

According to court documents, during interrogation they confessed to being sponsored by MP Akinlayo Davidson Kolawole, the current member for Ekiti II North Federal Constituency. Police say the investigation into that claim is ongoing.

Prosecution lawyers ASP Oriyomi and SO Osobu Esq. told the court that remand was necessary under sections 264(1) and (2) of the Ekiti State Criminal Administration Act to complete investigations.

The accused are: Adekunle Stephen, Adepoju Adebayo, Boluwaji Ishola, Oluwatobi Adeoluwa, Akintunde Emmanuel, Adewale Makanjuola, Ibitola Babatope, Abanikanda Sikiru, Dayo Ibijowo, Ajayi Dele and Adegbite Damola.

Magistrate Adeosun adjourned the case to June 16, 2026, for further mention.

The arrests and remand follow an earlier police raid in Ikun-Ekiti where weapons, ammunition and vehicles were recovered. Governor Biodun Oyebanji has already suspended Dayo Ibijowo, one of the detainees, pending the outcome of the investigation.
