Team Nigeria athletes preparing for the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Aberdeen, Scotland, have received their full camp allowance, with sprint sensation Favor Ashe praising the National Sports Commission (NSC) for its outstanding welfare package.
Speaking from the team’s training ground, Ashe, fondly called “Nigeria’s nightmare” by athletics fans for his explosive speed on the track, praised the NSC for providing world-class facilities, quality accommodation and a well-balanced diet for the athletes.
“The camp was excellent. Our allowances were paid in full, the facilities are first class and the nutrition is of the highest standard. The National Sports Commission have done a fantastic job ensuring we have everything we need to prepare for the Commonwealth Games,” Ashe said.
The National Sports Commission, under the leadership of President Shehu Dikko and Director General Hon. Bukola Olopade, has continued to prioritize the well-being of athletes, creating an enabling environment for the Team
Nigeria will focus fully on training and achieving the podium in Glasgow. The positive atmosphere in the camp has further boosted confidence among the athletes as they intensify preparations for the Games, with the hope of bringing glory to Nigeria.
