An aspirant for the House of Representatives seat in Igabi Federal Constituency under the All Progressives Congress (APC), Sani Abdulkadir Dakace, has warned that alleged irregularities during the party primaries could compromise unity within the APC ahead of the general elections.
Dakace, through his campaign organization led by his Publicity Secretary, Ibrahim Dahiru Danfulani, raised concerns over the conduct of the APC direct primary process in Igabi Federal Constituency during a press conference in Kaduna.
According to the campaign organization, internal democracy must be protected to sustain the trust of party members and supporters.
He warned that a flawed primary process could create disaffection among members and weaken the party’s chances in the general election.
“Primary elections are not simply an administrative exercise; they are the foundation of internal democracy,” the campaign stated.
The organization said issues surrounding the conduct of the primaries raised questions about the fairness and transparency of the process.
Dakace argued that every card-carrying member of the APC should be allowed to freely participate in the democratic process in line with the party’s constitution and guidelines.
He also called on the party’s national leadership to ensure fairness and credibility in handling concerns arising from the primaries.
The aspirant also urged party members and stakeholders to remain calm and avoid actions that could increase tension within the party.
He maintained that his campaign remains committed to a peaceful, transparent and credible democratic process within the APC.
