As the 2027 general elections approach, tensions are rising in Kogi State over who will fly the flag of the All Progressives Congress to represent Kogi East in the Senate.

“I strongly support your government. I am loyal to you, (Ododo), and AYB (Yahaya Bello). Why do you want to reject the best representative in Kogi east? I have told everyone who will listen that I do not want to run for governor. Since you now want to run against me, the battle lines have been drawn.”

He continued, “The structure that I have built, the physical structure and various empowerments are the only things that can guarantee the success of Mr. President of Nigeria in the coming elections and perhaps your own election for a second term.

“Tell your people I’m waiting. I’m the one here.”

He also claimed the governor wrote the primary election report at State House, but vowed that such a report would not stand.
