Carney unhappy with benching role at World Cup after snubbing Super Eagles

Borussia Dortmund midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka is not happy with the small role he played for the team in the World Cup, where they were eliminated in the round of 32.

Chukwuemeka was eligible for England, Nigeria and Austria, but after representing England at different youth levels he opted to change his nationality to Austria before the World Cup.

Prior to his decision, he turned down the option of representing Nigeria when he was approached by a scout for the Nigerian senior team on behalf of head coach Eric Chelle.

He made the decision to play for Austria and is now unhappy with how little coach Ralf Ragnick used him at the time.

Although he played in every match of the tournament except the final group match against Algeria, his combined minutes did not reach 90, leaving him unhappy with Ragnick.
