Bayer Leverkusen interested in the Super Eagles winger

Nigerian winger Chidera Ejuke has become a transfer target for Bundesliga giants Bayer Leverkusen ahead of the summer transfer window, reports completesports.com.

Ejuke is expected to leave Sevilla after another disappointing campaign for the Spanish club.

The 28-year-old struggled to make a significant impact, recording one goal and one assist in 29 La Liga appearances for the Rojiblancos.

Several Premier League clubs are also reportedly tracking the Nigerian international, but Bayer Leverkusen are currently leading the race for his signature.

The former CSKA Moscow star is valued at €4 million by Transfermarkt and joined Sevilla on a free transfer in 2024.

A move away from the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium could offer Ejuke a new opportunity to revive his career after two difficult seasons in Spain.

Ejuke needs a new start

Ejuke only has one year left on his contract with Sevilla, and the club will be keen to secure a transfer fee for the winger this summer rather than risk losing him for nothing at the end of next season.

Los Nervionenses are under pressure to raise funds due to La Liga’s strict financial regulations, making player sales a priority during the transfer window.

Ejuke’s international teammate Akor Adams has also been linked with a departure from the club as Sevilla look to balance their books.

The Andalusian team narrowly avoided relegation from La Liga last season, finishing 17th in the table after a disappointing campaign.
