Doug McCallum is projected to be the next mayor of Surrey again.
“Tonight Surrey has become a global city,” McCallum said.
“We will address your affordability, we will address your safety, and we will address your infrastructure.”
McCallum told his supporters he loved Surrey; that’s why he ran.
“Together we will build a great city where our families will live, have jobs and exercise, enjoy each other, work together to make one of the best global cities in the world! Come on, come on, Surrey!”
Incumbent Mayor Brenda Locke conceded to McCallum in a speech before polls closed.

“The voters have really spoken,” he said.
“I would like to wish them every success as they take on the responsibility of leading Surrey’s most extraordinary city. Surrey deserves our full support; there is no doubt.”
Locke thanked his team for their concern.
“Four years ago, the people of Surrey gave me the honor of serving as mayor,” he said.
“This has been the privilege of a lifetime. We have made progress in Surrey, huge progress, in terms of housing, infrastructure, public safety and the amenities our city has developed today. To every citizen who has put their trust in me, I am truly grateful.”

McCallum led the City of Surrey as mayor for 13 years and lost to Locke in 2022.
He ran again this election under the banner of ‘Doug Gets It Done’, and it appears he has done it again.
