Security operatives in Borno State have arrested three suspected logistics service providers allegedly linked to Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) during a coordinated operation in Kaga Local Government Area.
The suspects, identified as Fandi Adam Konto, Aji Bura Modu and Tijjain Abubakar Aisami, were arrested around Mainok village while transporting drugs and other consumable items destined for terrorist hideouts in the area.
The operation was carried out by officers of the Department of State Services (DSS) of the Borno State Command, in collaboration with members of the Forest Guard, following intelligence reports on the activities of the suspects.
Security sources said the suspects were intercepted in the first hours of the operation, while the recovered items were taken into custody for further investigation.
Authorities said the arrests were part of ongoing efforts to disrupt supply chains and support the networks of terrorist groups operating in the northeast.
According to security agencies, targeting logistics providers remains a key aspect of counterinsurgency operations, as it helps weaken the operational capabilities of rebel groups by cutting off access to essential supplies.
Investigations are underway to determine the extent of the alleged involvement of the suspects and to identify other members of the network.
