The Court reserves the right to rule on the bail of the CEO of Blessing…

A Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos, has reserved its ruling on the bail application filed by social media influencer and relationship therapist, Okoro Blessing Nkiruka, popularly known as CEO of Blessing, who is on trial for an alleged ₦36 million fraud.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) disclosed this in a statement published on its official X account on Friday.

According to the anti-corruption agency, Judge DI Dipeolu postponed the decision on the bail application to June 9, 2026.

The Blessing CEO is being prosecuted by the Lagos Zonal Directorate 1 of the EFCC on a two-count charge bordering on obtaining money by false pretenses and theft.

The commission alleged that between July 14 and 17, 2024, the accused obtained ₦36 million from Mrs Ifeyinwa Nonye Okoye under the guise of securing a six-bedroom duplex for rent in the Lekki area of Lagos.

During the previous proceedings, the defense lawyer had informed the court that the complainant had already been refunded ₦24 million and had requested further time to settle the outstanding balance.

However, the EFCC has opposed any attempt to resolve the matter privately, arguing that criminal charges before the court should proceed regardless of the ongoing negotiations between the parties.

Justice Dipeolu had earlier ruled that settlement discussions could not stop the criminal proceedings and ordered that the accused remain in custody pending further hearing of the case.

The matter was later postponed to June 9, 2026, when the court is expected to rule on the bail application.
