The Rangers International Football Club Foundation (RIFC Foundation) will engage teachers of Carmel Nursery & Primary School, GRA Enugu, in a targeted social-emotional learning (SEL) session on Monday, June 8, 2026, at the school’s conference room by 2.30pm local time

The pledge, themed “Teaching the Heart, Shaping the Mind, Building the Future,” is designed to strengthen teachers’ self-awareness, self-management and interpersonal skills. By providing educators with evidence-based SEL strategies, the RiFC Foundation aims to improve pupil behavioral outcomes, improve classroom management and child care, and increase teacher productivity and overall well-being for sustainable development.

As part of the session, the RIFC Foundation will provide teachers with a practical SEL toolkit to replace boxing, punitive discipline and fear-based control with positive, skills-based approaches to behavior management.

“Behavioral change does not come from slogans or punishments,” said coach Ebere Amaraizu, president of the RiFC Foundation. “It’s accomplished by addressing the beliefs underlying behavior and providing teachers with tools that work. This is how we move from control to connection in our classrooms.”

Speaking about the essence, the president of the RIFC Foundation claims that the overall goal is:
Build a teacher’s capacity in SEL so Carmel Nursery & Primary School can build safer, more productive classrooms where students learn self-regulation, empathy, and responsible decision making – foundations for lifelong success.

According to coach Amaraizu,
The RIFC Foundation’s 4-Step SEL Model will drive engagement, using data-driven insights to challenge unhelpful beliefs about discipline and replace them with skills that create lasting behavioral change.

The Rangers International Football Club Foundation uses football and evidence-based programs to promote youth development, education and social change in Enugu State and beyond. Through SEL, life skills and community involvement, the RiFC Foundation works to ensure every child has the tools to thrive.
