Head coach Éric Chelle has declared that three-time African champions Nigeria will take nothing for granted when they take on the Djurtus (Wild Dogs) of Guinea-Bissau in a qualifying match for the second day of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations in Bissau on Tuesday.
“We respect them because they are a strong team; I have followed their progress over the years. They also won away in Tanzania on Friday and will have confidence playing at home tomorrow.
“Our goal is to get the three points and, to do so, we must approach the game with a strong mentality. We have to give our best to achieve victory,” said Chelle in the pre-match press conference on Monday.
The Franco-Malian did not want to dwell on the poor condition of the grass at the 24 de Septiembre Stadium and stated that his team will make the most of the terrain during the 90 minutes.
