Ogun State – 19 June
2026: The Nelo Dreams Foundation, in collaboration with the Rangers International Football Club Foundation, organized a mental health drive for pupils of Nathaniel Gift School, Ogun State.
The session was aimed at students of classes Primary 4-6, JSS 1-3 and SS 1-2 through _ of the RIFC FoundationBeyond the field_ initiative, anchored in Social Emotional Learning + Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy.
Key Highlights:
1. Understanding Depression: Students learned what depression is, how it affects mental health and well-being, and why early recognition is important.
2. Recognize the symptoms: practical signs to identify in yourself and your peers, moving from stigma to awareness.
3. Mental Health Effects: How Untreated Stress and Negative Beliefs Affect Learning, Relationships, and Decision Making.
4. Action Over Silence: Students were provided with the RIFC Foundation’s 4-Step SEL+REBT Model and toolkits for speaking up, seeking help, and challenging self-destructive thoughts.
5. Message: Never stay silent when things aren’t going well for you. Speak openly. Ask for help.
Through _Beyond the field_, sport begins the journey and character concludes it. This effort moves students from knowing to taking action, using SEL + REBT as everyday mental health tools.
