The South East Basketball Association has commended teams, coaches, players, officials and stakeholders who participated in the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) Premier League held at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu.
The association, in a statement made available to the media, described the participation of the teams as an important factor for the success of the competition, appreciating their presence and contribution to the growth of basketball in the region.
The South East representative on the board of the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF), Chief Ugo Udezue, has expressed gratitude to all the teams that traveled to Enugu for the championship, saying their stay in Coal City was fruitful and memorable.
“We are happy that you have come to Enugu City. Your stay has been fruitful and we believe that you have enjoyed every moment of your time here – the hospitality, the culture and the warmth of our people,” Udezue said.
He also commended the Nigerian Basketball Federation, referees, coaches, players and match officials for their commitment and professionalism in ensuring a successful competition.
According to him, the challenges recorded during the tournament would serve as a learning experience for future basketball events.
“Let us not ignore some of the challenges we have faced during this competition. It is a learning curve and we have learned our lessons. We are already working on them to ensure that future competitions are better organized and more successful,” he said.
The NBBF board representative also urged stakeholders to continue to offer constructive feedback, assuring that necessary improvements will be made.
“Where we got it right, we appreciate your support. Where we didn’t get it right, tell us and we will make the necessary corrections,” he added.
The South East Basketball Association also wished all the participating teams a safe journey back to their respective destinations, thanking them for making Enugu the center of basketball action.
