According to Wolves correspondent Nathan Judah, Tuesday’s training session was canceled after Arokodare allegedly refused to leave the pitch when asked not to train with the first team. Judah also reports that there was extra security at Compton Park on Wednesday, while the Super Eagles striker will not travel with the team for Tuesday night’s pre-season friendly against Maidenhead United.
The incident comes as Fiorentina continue to pursue the 25-year-old. The Serie A club have already seen an initial offer rejected, with Wolves unwilling to sell below their valuation despite the player’s alleged desire to move to Italy.
Arokodare endured a difficult first season at Molineux following his move from Genk. He scored three goals in the Premier League as Wolves were relegated to the Championship, and reports suggest he is interested in a fresh start in Serie A. Trabzonspor also showed interest early in the transfer window, but the Nigerian international preferred to wait for an opportunity in one of Europe’s top five leagues.
For now, Wolves are standing firm on their valuation despite interest from Fiorentina, with negotiations expected to continue as the transfer window progresses.
