A 60-year-old man died in a hotel room with a 20-year-old woman

A 60-year-old man who was staying at a hotel in Dutse, Jigawa State with a 20-year-old woman has been reported dead.

The incident was notified by the Jigawa State Police Command which has launched an investigation into the sudden and unnatural death of the man.

This was stated by SP Command Spokesperson Shi’isu Adam in his statement to journalists, Tuesday evening, that the incident was reported on Tuesday, July 21 2026 at around 12.50 WIB.

“The incident occurred at a hotel in Dutse, where a 60-year-old man staying with a 20-year-old woman suddenly experienced a medical emergency after asking for food,” said Adam.

He explained that the man reportedly began panting shortly after the food was served.

“After receiving reports of an emergency, police officers attached to the Yalwawa Division responded swiftly to the scene,” said PPRO.

He added that the victim was immediately evacuated to Dutse General Hospital to receive medical treatment.

“At the hospital, he was examined by medical personnel and unfortunately was declared dead,” he added.

Adam said detectives secured the scene and immediately carried out an initial examination after the incident.

“During the exercise, several foodstuffs, drinks, substances suspected of enhancing sexual desire, and other personal items were confiscated for further examination,” he said.

He noted that all necessary procedures were followed to preserve evidence and assist in a comprehensive investigation.

“After death is medically declared and the necessary procedures have been completed, the body of the deceased is handed over to his family for burial according to their request,” he said.

PPRO also confirmed that the 20 year old woman who was with the deceased was cooperative with investigators.

“He provided useful information to help determine the chain of events that led to this unfortunate incident. The investigation is still ongoing,” said Adam.

The Commissioner of Police, Jigawa State Command, assured the public that the case would be handled professionally.

“The investigation will be carried out thoroughly, professionally and impartially,” said CP through PPRO.

Adam appealed to residents to avoid speculation and the circulation of unverified information that could cause panic or prejudice the investigation.

“We urge the public to refrain from speculation or spreading unverified information that could cause unnecessary anxiety,” he warned.

The command said further updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
