There’s nothing wrong with being called a ‘gold digger’, actress Bukky Wright tells women

Veteran Nollywood actress, Bukky Wright, has told women not to feel ashamed of being labeled ‘gold diggers’, and said men should pursue women they “can afford”.

She defended women who are financially demanding in relationships, saying they should not feel ashamed of having high standards or be labeled as “gold diggers”.

Speaking on a recent episode of The Morayo Show, Wright criticized what he described as the hypocrisy of some men who shame women for expecting financial stability from their partners.

According to the actress, there is nothing wrong with being called a “gold digger”.

He encouraged women not to lower their standards and urged men to pursue relationships with women whose expectations they can meet.

“I hate it when I hear men call women gold diggers. What do you expect from her to dig before? I would not advise any woman to dig for anything but gold.

“If you can’t afford a woman, don’t choose a woman. Choose a woman you can afford,” he said.

Reflecting on her youth, Wright explained that many women prefer to date older men because they are more financially secure than their peers.

“I remember when I was growing up, we wouldn’t date friends our own age because what do you have to offer?

“As a man, if you date someone on a higher level, then you are in trouble. That’s why I say cut your clothes according to the fabric you have,” the actress added.
