Israeli top division side Maccabi Tel Aviv are leading the race to sign Nigerian winger Odede Elijah from newly promoted French Ligue 1 side Troyes, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
The Israeli giants are pushing to complete a loan deal for the 19-year-old with an option to buy, with talks between the parties currently progressing.
However, Maccabi is not alone in the race. Erzurumspor, a top-flight Turkish team, is also pushing hard to sign the winger and has entered the scene.
At the moment, Maccabi Tel Aviv is leading the race, and the club is working to close the deal for the Ikon Allah Academy graduate, who began his time in Europe with Moldovan side Sheriff FC.
Ikon Allah Academy is based in the northern city of Kaduna, Nigeria, and became a household name after Zadok Yohanna’s highly publicized transfer to English Premier League side Brighton after 18 months with Swedish side AIK.
