The son of former Super Eagles defender Emenalo has joined Celtic from Chelsea

The son of former Super Eagles defender and former Chelsea technical director Michael Emenalo, Landon joins Scottish aides Celtic on loan from Chelsea.

The 18-year-old will spend this season in Scotland to gain valuable first-team experience.

Emenalo was included in Chelsea’s senior squad for their pre-season tour of Asia and Australia and featured for Xabi Alonso’s side in their win over A-League club Western Sydney Wanderers.

Chelsea said the move was an important opportunity for the young player to continue his development at senior level.

“Landon will gain valuable top-flight experience in Scotland,” Chelsea said in a statement obtained by its website on Thursday, while wishing the academy graduate “good luck” during his time at Celtic.

The younger Emenalo joined the Chelsea Academy at the age of seven and has progressed through the club’s youth system over the years.

He was a regular starter for Chelsea Under-21s last season and helped the Blues finish top of the Premier League 2 standings.

The teenager also contributed to the success of Chelsea Under-18s, helping the team secure the national title after beating Manchester City in the play-off final at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea stated that they would continue to monitor his progress during his time at Celtic.
