Abuja-based Derby Football Academy youngster Abdulwaris Yunus has officially completed his move to Czech club FK Teplice, marking another important step in his football development.
The talented young Nigerian, who has represented the Nigeria U17 national team, will continue his development with FK Teplice B, competing in the 3. Česká fotbalová liga (ČFL), Group B, the third division of Czech football.
The move gives Yunus the opportunity to gain valuable experience in European football as he works towards a future place in Teplice’s senior team.
FK Teplice’s first team competes in the Czech Chance Liga, meaning the Nigerian prospect now has a clear path to progress through the club system and eventually compete at the highest level of Czech football.
Yunus arrives with the ambition to leave his mark on The Skláři and prove himself in his new environment.
After completing the move, the young Nigerian said:
“I am very happy to start this new chapter. I know there is a lot of work ahead, but I am ready for the challenge. I want to learn, improve every day and show my qualities every time I have the opportunity. My goal is to continue developing and work towards the first team.”
The transfer was facilitated by Sir Kelechi Nnrom, CEO of Right 2 Win FC, who played a key role in helping create the opportunity for the young Nigerian to continue his career in Europe.
For Derby Football Academy, Yunus’ move represents another encouraging success story and highlights the growing opportunities available to young talent developing in Nigeria.
Now, in the Ústí nad Labem region in the north of the Czech Republic, Yunus will begin to adapt to his new surroundings and the demands of Czech football.
His trip from Abuja to the Czech Republic is another important milestone, but for the Nigeria U17 prospect, the biggest goal remains ahead.
