Why I Still Live in a Rented Apartment Despite Owning Houses – Ola from Lagos

Nigerian influencer and entrepreneur Waris Olayinka Akinwande, popularly known as Ola from Lagos, has explained why he continues to live in a rented apartment despite owning multiple houses.

The luxury influencer revealed this during a recent episode of the KK Show, where he revealed that he had never slept in any house purchased with his own money.

Why Ola from Lagos prefers renting

Ola said he deliberately chooses to live in a rented apartment because he believes living in his own home might make him too relaxed and reduce his motivation to work harder.

According to him, the financial pressure of paying rent serves as motivation to continue pursuing his business and other ventures.

He explained that although he owns properties and lives on a beautiful estate, he still opts for rented accommodation.

“I have never slept in any house I bought with my own money. If you do, you relax too much. Even though it is in a beautiful estate, I still live in rented apartments and pay rent,” he said.

Ola reveals annual rent

The influencer revealed that he currently pays $50 million a year for his apartment rental.

He said the significant financial commitment helps keep him focused and pushes him to work harder.

“When I pay $50 million a year, I use that pain to keep grinding harder,” he said.
