The Security Council was briefed by some of the world’s leading AI executives on the huge benefits and huge risks posed by the leading technology. With warnings growing that the world may be losing control of systems built to outsmart us, Yoshua Bengi, recipient of the prestigious Turing Award and one of the fathers of machine intelligence, said that the danger of AI beyond human control represents an unprecedented threat to countries “that no one can contain and that does not respect the borders we defend.”
