Athletic Bilbao winger Álvaro Djaló has said that Guinea Bissau’s Wild Dogs are ready to face three-time champions, the Super Eagles, on the second day of the AFCON 2027 qualifiers.
Djaló, before Tuesday’s Group L match at the 24 de Setembro Stadium in Bissau, spoke to the Guinea-Bissau newspaper O Democrata GBHe acknowledged the formidable individual quality contained in the Nigerian team, but stressed that his team is entering the match with great motivation and absolute confidence.
Djaló underlined that Guinea-Bissau’s main objective for the qualification campaign is simple: “We hope to win the three points because our objective is to win every match.
“We are very confident and I feel that the team is very motivated for this match against Nigeria.”
While maintaining a courageous stance, the La Liga striker admitted that facing Nigeria requires total concentration, highlighting the depth of talent at the West African giants’ disposal.
Both teams started their qualifying campaigns with victories, Guinea-Bissau securing an impressive away win against co-hosts Tanzania, leaving both teams top of the group ahead of this match.
