ADC denies losing members to the APC and describes the ruling party as liars

Abuja (Core Reporters) – The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has dismissed the APC’s claim of having received ADC House of Assembly candidates from Jigawa, Plateau, Taraba and Zamfara states as wishful thinking and a figment of the imagination of the APC.
In a statement signed by Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, ADC National Publicity Secretary, the party said the persons paraded are not ADC candidates, leaders or nominees.
“The APC cannot gather random individuals at its secretariat, give them imaginary ADC credentials and then announce their defection. While the APC Chairman is welcome to receive visitors, he should stop presenting them to Nigerians as people they are not. These people are not our candidates”
The party also mocked claims that the alleged defectors were attracted by the administration’s “remarkable transformation” of northern Nigeria.
“After inventing ADC credentials for its guests, the APC has given an equally fanciful account of its performance in recent years. The APC should explain how these fake photoshoots reduce food prices, protect Nigerian communities, or help struggling families pay their bills. Nigerians demand evidence of better lives; the APC produces photographs and congratulates itself.”
The ADC challenged the APC to substantiate the credentials it had assigned to the fake individuals it presented as ADC members.
“The APC should declare the ADC positions these individuals supposedly held, the constituencies they represented as our candidates and when they held such positions. The APC should enjoy its photographs and spare Nigerians this unnecessary fiction.”
