Dakingari takes over as Nigeria’s envoy to Türkiye

Nigeria’s diplomatic presence in Turkey entered a new phase when former Kebbi State Governor, Sa’idu Dakingari, now Ambassador and Plenipotentiary to that country, presented his Letters of Credence to President Erdogan of the Republic of Türkiye in Ankara.

This marks the formal start of his tenure as Nigeria’s top diplomat in Turkey, with the mandate to strengthen bilateral relations on trade, education and strategic partnership between the two nations.

A retired customs officer, Ambassador Dakingari, appointed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, served as governor of Kebbi State from 2007 to 2015.

Officials from the Nigerian Embassy in Ankara welcomed him and accompanied him to the Presidential Palace on Friday for the presentation of his credentials to the Turkish leader.
