The Chairman of Kwali Area Council in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Daniel Nuhu Kwali, on Friday expressed commitment to the development of the Council.
He said this on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the creation of the Kwali area council, where he also celebrated 100 days in office of his administration.
The occasion also coincided with the 66th anniversary of Nigeria’s independence.
“The events provided opportunities to reflect on the history of peoples, to recognize the progress made over the years and to renew collective commitment to the work ahead,” he said.
Kwali noted that since the Council was created, the area has been led by successive administrations who have made vital contributions to its development.
According to him, in the short period he assumed office, his administration turned attention to the provision of critical infrastructure, including roads, bridges, electricity, healthcare, water supply, education, community lighting, youth development, sports and other essential services for community development.
The significance of the first 100 days, he said, “goes beyond projects and statistics”, adding: “It is about laying the foundations for a culture of responsive governance, which listens to people, identifies urgent needs within communities and takes practical steps to address them.”
He added: “As Nigeria celebrates 66 years of independence, the occasion also serves as a reminder of the enduring importance of unity, resilience, service, patriotism and our collective responsibility in building a stronger and better future for generations to come.”
