Ekiti driver borrowed N3.5m to campaign for Tinubu, member of parliament

A mini truck driver based in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, Adeleye Adeniyi, says he borrowed N3.5 million to support the re-election bid of President Bola Tinubu, Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele and Ekiti State House of Assembly member Steve Fatoba.

Adeniyi, known as “Online Loans for BAO”, disclosed this in an interview with journalists on Friday, where he displayed various Wema Bank cardboard checks showing N2m for Tinubu, N1m for Bamidele and N500,000 for Fatoba.

He said he was ready to campaign for the three politicians ahead of the upcoming election, citing what he described as their performance in office.

“I support Mr President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for his ambition for a second term. I have borrowed money. I want to use this money to support him because he is doing his job very well,” he said.

Adeniyi also vowed to campaign for Tinubu, adding, “As I said again, I am fully ready to campaign for him. And I will use this song to support him. On your mandate, we will stand.”

He appealed to Nigerians to vote for Tinubu, Bamidele and Fatoba, saying he believed the President would bring more benefits if re-elected.

“I would appeal to my fellow Nigerians that we must show love by giving him, by electing him for a second term, because we will still see much more, much more than what we have received,” he said.

The driver also praised Bamidele and Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji for their contributions to health services, education, electricity and rural infrastructure in the state.

“Senator Michael Opeyemi Bamidele, this man, I pray that we can still reach greater heights. Many times, I see the kind of projects that you always undertake, you always support. It always encourages me that, no, indeed, this is a good leader,” he said.

Adeniyi previously attracted attention in February 2026 after reportedly borrowing money via digital lending platform OPay to brand a vehicle to support Oyebanji’s second term bid.

The mini truck driver who operates around BAO Timber Market along Ilawe Road in Ado-Ekiti said his decision at the time was motivated by his admiration for the governor’s administration.

He also commended Oyebanji and Tinubu for their policies in the areas of education, health services and citizen welfare, and urged citizens to support the governor’s re-election bid.

In the latest video, Adeniyi said he took another loan to show his support for politicians.

“I support Mr President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for his second term ambition. I have borrowed money. I want to use this money to support him because he is doing his job very well.’
