The Center for Peace and Social Progress (PSAC) has launched an Executive School for Peace, Leadership and Governance, with applications open for 20 participants for its inaugural three-day online program, scheduled for October 21-23, 2026.

The initiative, according to the organization, is designed to address persistent challenges in ethical leadership, institutional accountability and effective governance by equipping emerging and established leaders with the knowledge and practical skills needed to promote peace and sustainable development.

Headquartered in Abeokuta, Ogun State, PSAC said the program will bring together public officials, politicians, civil society actors and other individuals whose leadership responsibilities intersect with governance, peacebuilding and development.

The organization said the initiative was driven by the belief that sustainable peace and meaningful development require more than government policies and institutional structures, underscoring the need for leaders capable of exercising authority responsibly and making decisions that improve people’s well-being.

According to PSAC, the Executive School will provide a platform for leadership development, executive learning and political engagement, with a focus on ethical decision-making, institutional effectiveness and constructive management of competing interests.

The center said participants will be encouraged to develop a greater understanding of the relationship between peace, leadership and governance, while gaining practical insights on building accountable institutions and promoting sustainable human development.

Applications for the inaugural cohort are currently open and only 20 participants are expected to be accepted into the online program.

PSAC said the program is intended for both emerging and established leaders interested in strengthening their capacity to contribute to effective governance, peaceful communities and institutional development.

However, the organization said that further details on the eligibility criteria and application process will be provided through the official announcement and application portal.

He urged qualified and committed people to use the opportunity to enhance their leadership capacity and contribute to building a more peaceful, just and prosperous society.

The center described the launch as part of its broader commitment to promoting peace and development through leadership training, institutional strengthening, political engagement and practical training.

PSAC, a Nigerian think tank and civil society organization founded in 2019, works in the field of peace, governance and development through research, dialogue, advocacy, political engagement and training.

The organization is committed to generating policy ideas, strengthening institutions, promoting responsible governance and promoting sustainable human development.
