Stop Causing Chaos in Edo, APC Diaspora Chief Warns Social Media Users

A leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in the diaspora, Ambassador Odion Kessington Oriaifo, has called on individuals he described as troublemakers and noise makers on social media to desist from actions capable of causing chaos, deepening divisions and returning Edo State to what he described as its dark and bloody days.

Oriaifo, who made the call in a viral video, said on Monday that Governor Okpebholo was focused on delivering development to the state and correcting what he described as anomalies of the immediate past administration of former governor, Godwin Obaseki.

He argued that the current administration must be allowed to focus on governance and development, instead of being distracted by what he called politically motivated attacks and attempts to discredit the government.

The APC chieftain described the Obaseki administration as a bloody period in the history of Edo State, arguing that the period was characterized by massive fraud, insecurity, sectarianism and other challenges.

According to him, the Okpebholo administration was now working to address these challenges, even as evidence abounded of peace prevailing in Edo State, as kidnappers and cultists had been shown the way out of Edo State.

Oriaifo argued that the prevailing political atmosphere called for constructive engagement and support for the state’s development agenda, rather than the promotion of controversial narratives capable of undermining government efforts.

Commenting on the activities of the former governor since he left office, Oriaifo said Obaseki had traveled from country to country to organize conferences aimed at discrediting the Okpebholo administration.

He wondered why the former governor did not organize similar conferences to promote unity among the people of Edo State during his tenure, particularly when the state was grappling with divisions.

The APC chief also questioned the credibility of investment summits organized under the previous administration, alleging that they were scams rather than genuine platforms to attract significant investments into the state.

He further said that the Obaseki government was characterized by massive fraud, describing it as an administration that failed to live up to the expectations of the people.
