Nigeria’s U-15 Future Eagles defeated Cyprus 2-1 on Monday morning, before a 1-1 draw with Pakistan on Monday afternoon saw them remain unbeaten following group stage matches at the World Cup and the ongoing FIFA U-15 Festival in Baku, Azerbaijan.

Against Cyprus, Wisdom Oche scored Nigeria’s first goal before captain Timothy Ogar Ijachi, who overcame a knock suffered in the 3-3 draw against Gambia on Sunday, scored the winning goal for Nigeria.

In the afternoon, Ijachi returned to form, against Pakistan, to draw level with Nigeria in the 25th minute, after the Pakistanis had taken the lead a minute into the second half.

With FIFA operating a non-elimination format for this inaugural competition, the Future Eagles await the next level they will drop to and then continue their quest for honors in the competition.
