D’Tigers out of race for 2024 Olympic Games

D’Tigers lost consecutive games to Mali and Senegal, blowing any chance of picking one of Africa’s tickets for the Summer Games next year in Paris.

The 77-68 defeat to Mali on Tuesday was the final nail to the coffin of the team which was assembled less than ten days to the Series.

Similar to the agonizing defeat to Senegal, Nigeria led until the fourth quarter against Mali, they couldn’t hold on and ended up throwing away a nine-point lead.

As a result, Mali and Senegal advanced to the semifinals.
