UEFA Champions League: At last, Onana, Maguire step up for Manchester United, Arsenal win


Manchester United recorded their first win in the group stage of the UEFA Champions League courtesy of a 1-0 victory against Danish club FC Copenhagen at the Old Trafford.

Harry Maguire scored the winning goal from a header 18 minutes from time.

Andre Onana saved a penalty deep into stoppage-time.

Jordan Larsson, son of the former United player Henrik took the penalty.

The win lifted Manchester United off the bottom of Group A.

In the other fixture, Arsenal defeated Sevilla 2-1 away to boost their chances of securing a place in the Round of 16.

Gabriel Jesus set up Gabriel Martinelli for the opening goal late in the first half.

Jesus then added the second with a stunning goal in the 53rd minute.

Nemanja Gudelj reduced the deficit for the home team five minutes later.
