The Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) certificate replaces the primary school certificate as the first school leaving certificate given to candidates as proof of their hard work and participation in the examination.
Please do remember that you are allowed to register a minimum of 8 subjects, and a maximum of 10 subjects out of 18 subjects approved by the BECE board for this examination.
The BECE grading system is as follows:
- A – Distinction
- B – Upper Credit
- C – Lower Credit
- P – Pass
- F – Fail
Number of subjects you can register in (BECE) junior WAEC exams
Candidates sitting for the BECE examination should note that the maximum number of subjects you are allowed to register for is Ten (10) subjects that you are good in. However, most schools will be directing their candidates on how to go about the subject registration. To be eligible to move into SS1 class, you must pass at least, six (6) subjects out of these 10 subjects.
