You guys have asked me for years to find some surfboards that are cheap and yet highly functional. Well, I was approached by Magic Carpet to test out their Dark Water Dagger model, a super playful twin fin shape that I was delighted to ride.

DonΒ΄t understand why a twinfin makes a board have more glide? Makes no sense.
I owned a Magic Carpet Houdini (mid length) for a couple of months. It was a nice shape but it continually cracked along the rails with regular use, which was really disappointing. My Haydens or JS boards never had the same consistent issue.
Well the price went up to $699… fail
Would Love to see a review on the Troq boards as thez are also prettz cheap compared to other boards. Espacially the Twin Fish since I can`t find any reviews to the board. Anyways keep up the great videos!
Can you try decathlon's surfboards? They're really affordable, it'd be cool to have an objetive review
I worked in the surfboard industry for over 15 years, in that time the cost of materials went up considerably but the price of boards have stayed the same.. we should be encouraging people to pay a premium for their boards this in turn will bring the quality of the materials and craftsmanship up a notch and wonβt drive shapers to look for cheap laborβ¦ plus people will buy less boards but will really learn to look after their craft because it cost more..
Buying cheap boards does nothing for the industry, it only makes it worse and creates an industry that only benefits the top dogs and not the actual tradesmen building the boards who are getting paid f$&k allβ¦
Wow ! Say this board on a uk site , but never thought that it would score this high ! Thank you so much for sharing kale ! ππ½
My FAVORITE groveler ever is the CI Rocket Wide with a squash tail! You should try it π
$699? I bought my retro fish EPS new for $499 in Mona Vale, Sydney.
Theres a shaper in Byron does some of the best boards I have ever used. The best twins I have ever had. About 1/2 the cost of some big names.
It looks like a great board with plenty of volume up front for a shorty. It looked ready to take whatever you were dishing out. I liked the skatey performance you gave with the keels.
The only downside I see is the price. That isn't on the cheap side. As others have mentioned, there's loads of boards available for cheaper. Probably why foamies are so common lately.
Oh and the fish/swallowtail. Seems those are keeping ding repair guys working. Unless you always have a pad next to your vehicle, your gonna wreck those little tips.
Am I missing something? The website linked says these start at $699 USD??
Slavecrafted in Taiwan or Pakistan?
Second session had much cleaner glassy waves so example not very objective ..
I found one for 150 it was a soft top, though
Hi, Iβm Mahlou I was wondering if one day we could surf and catch up?
Great no nonsense review.
Decathlon starts half the price but ok
Try the Decathlon boards
Decathlon's Olaian Twin retails at 350β¬
it would be interesting to see how the glass job (4 x 4 x 4) holds up. A lot of these super cheap mass-produced boards have terrible glassing and ding very easily
Try sparrow boards there really good quality and cheap.
Thanks for this, I saw this at my local JS surf shop O-side, CA and it was on sale for really cheap price and was considering it and wanted to wait for someone to review it before pulling the trigger.
enjoying a midstrenght epoxy 6'8

Always objective and no brand snob, thanks Kale.
I'm sure this is tailored to be intentional but there are boards in Aus that are still around that price. Dahlberg at Sideways comes to mind. Maybe more cheap board reviews too come? Cut through the hype!
If you can deal with been ghosted a few times, then Marketplace is always a good place for a board bargain.
