Miyetti Allah leader on trial for allegedly financing terrorism

The National President of Miyetti Allah Kauta Kore, Bello Bodejo, was on Thursday arraigned before a Federal High Court in Abuja for allegedly financing terrorism.

He was also charged with alleged money laundering offenses involving $2.63 million.

He was brought to justice by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

EFCC Legal Counsel, Wahab Shittu, SAN, named Bodejo as the sole defendant in an indictment dated June 24 and filed on June 25.

Earlier when the case came up before Justice Inyang Ekwo, Shittu told the court that the matter was scheduled for Bodejo to take his plea.

Legal Counsel, Ahmed Raji, SAN, did not oppose the application.

After the indictment was read to Bodejo, he pleaded not guilty to the 12 charges
