The boxing event started with one of Nigeriaโs eleven boxers losing in a controversial manner at Bukom Boxing Arena, but Ojo stressed that they are all in Accra to take laurels back home.
She downplayed the fact that her gold medal came from a walkover against Selmouni Chahira of Algeria, who was disqualified before their 57kg final, but insisted that she and all the other Nigerian boxers are well prepared to excel in Accra.
Ojo declared with a buoyant tone: โWe came here prepared and our concentration is on taking something home to Nigeria.
โWe must give our best, because our federation really prepared us well, and our coaches have done a very wonderful job.
โI am happy with this result and I am sure that, with hard work and everything, be rest assured that you will see the best results.โ
She concluded with a verdict that Nigeria is set to record its best results in boxing at any recent edition of the Africa Games.
