Rangers International striker Godwin Obaje has reached a significant milestone in his Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) career, becoming only the second player in the last decade to score 100 top-flight goals.
Obaje achieved the feat in Rangers’ match against Warri Wolves on Wednesday 30 September 2026, taking his NPFL career mark to a century.

A decade of goals
Obaje’s century was built across different phases of his career and with clubs from different parts of the country.
His highest contribution came during his spells with Rangers International, where he scored 35 of his 100 NPFL goals.
He scored a further 25 goals for Wikki Tourists, while his time with FC Ifeanyi Ubah produced 16 goals.
He added one goal during his time with Plateau United and scored 23 for Abia Warriors, completing the 100-goal tally which has now placed him in an exclusive group of NPFL marksmen.

His performances that season made him one of the league’s emerging attacking talents and subsequently attracted interest from clubs outside Nigeria.
Following his stint with Wikki Tourists, Obaje moved to FC Ifeanyi Ubah, where he continued to find the net before representing Plateau United and Abia Warriors.
His career also included spells outside the NPFL, but his return to the National League saw him continue the goalscoring form that had characterized much of his career.
At Rangers, he enjoyed another productive chapter, contributing important goals for the Enugu team, while continuing to compete among the top scorers in the league.

When he was approaching a century earlier in 2026, the NPFL noted that he had already made more than 260 verifiable league appearances and scored 96 goals.

His performances during the 2025/26 season further demonstrated his continued relevance in the league.
Obaje finished that season with 14 goals for Rangers, finishing tied with Remo Stars’ Victor Mbaoma and Wikki Tourists’ Jonathan Mairiga in the league goals race.
The achievement also came almost a decade after he won the NPFL Golden Boot with Wikki Tourists, when he scored 18 goals in the 2016 season.

Reaching 100 NPFL goals places Obaje among a select group of forwards who have sustained a high level of goals over a long period in the Nigerian top flight.
