Alvine Dah-Zossu, a player for Rivers Angels, shared her thoughts in a post-match press conference following their hard-fought 2-1 victory against Edo Queens in the NWFL Super 6.
Reflecting on the game, Dah-Zossu said, “From the onset, our coach told us it was not going to be an easy game, so we had it in our mindset that the game was going to be difficult, but we gave our best and played according to our coach’s instruction, that is why we got the victory today.”

When asked about Rivers Angels’ prospects in the competition, she remained optimistic, acknowledging the strength of their opponents: “Well, from my point of view, all the teams that came for the Super 6 came prepared.
They have worked hard as much as we have, but I believe with our efforts, our coach’s instruction, and the grace of God, we will win the Super 6.”
Dah-Zossu attributed their strong performance to significant support and encouragement: “First of all, I would like to thank our honourable commissioner and the government of River State.
They have done very well to encourage us to come for this Super 6 and also our coach and general manager.
We had a lot of motivation from them coming here and we will never put their efforts to waste. We will put in our all.”
The jubilant celebrations after the game were also explained by Dah-Zossu, who revealed a special incentive from their supporters: “It was motivation from the commissioner who gave us the sum of two million naira after we won the game.”
Rivers Angels continue to push forward in the NWFL Super 6 with determination and support, aiming for ultimate success in the tournament.
