Besiktas extend Glory Ogbonna’s contract by one year

Super Falcons defender Glory Ogbonna has been rewarded with a one-year contract extension by Besiktas women’s football club following her impressive performance for Disi Kartallar in the 2023/24 season.

The club announced this in a statement on their official Instagram page on Friday, which read: “The Besiktas United Payment team has renewed the contract of our Nigerian defender Glory Ogbonna as part of the transfer efforts for the 2024/25 season.” .

The former Edo Queens player was one of the standout defenders in the recently concluded 2023/24 Turkcell Women’s Football League, with 28 appearances and one goal to her name.

Ogbonna expressed his delight at the contract, saying: “Since I joined Besiktas, it has been an incredible time and the fans have been great. “I am looking forward to seeing what the future holds.”

The Besiktas women’s football team finished fourth in the just-ended league with 59 points.
