Rwanda coach reacts as Nigeria seeks foreign advisor

During the June international window, Nigeria failed to secure a victory, drawing 1-1 with South Africa and suffering a 2-1 defeat to Benin Republic.

These results have left Nigeria fifth in their group with just three points, severely damaging their qualification hopes.

In light of these poor results, the NFF announced plans to appoint a foreign technical advisor, relegating current head coach Finidi George to the role of assistant.

In an exclusive interview with Brila FM, Spittler commented on the situation: “I think it is unfortunately abnormal, but I have not seen Nigeria play.

“People in the world of football don’t pay attention to how the team plays, but rather they are interested in maintaining records. If the results are bad, the coach knows that he will have to live with the possibility of being fired.”

And he added: “If the results do not arrive, it is difficult to retain the coach due to media pressure.”
