Super Eagles striker Tolu Arokodare has expressed his fierce determination to give his best and help Nigeria secure qualification for the 2027 African Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Arokodare’s stellar form at the club has earned him a well-deserved place in Eric Chelle’s 24 Super Eagles squad for the upcoming opening qualifying matches against Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau.

Arokodare vows to propel Nigeria towards AFCON 2027 qualification
Speaking in an interview with VoetbalprimeurThe forward made his ambitions clear on the international stage.
“I hope I can help my country,” Arokodare said.
The Nigerian international has been in brilliant goalscoring form in the Dutch Eredivisie with Ajax. Most recently, he found the back of the net in Ajax’s 2-2 draw against Excelsior, taking his impressive tally to six goals and two assists in nine appearances in all competitions this season.
Ajax’s powerful weapon
His imposing physical presence and clinical finishing have caused headaches for defenders across the league, prompting high praise from opposing coaches. Following the weekend’s clash, Excelsior coach Ruben den Uil candidly described the striker as an almost unfair advantage for the Amsterdam giants.

“When you see this Ajax… Tolu, that’s almost a fraud on the competition. It’s so strong and so long… a cheat code,” Den Uil commented. “That’s not normal. Even if you get a ten on the deck for the goal, this man will still be above you.”
With his goalscoring boots firmly strapped and his confidence soaring, Arokodare will look to take his lethal club form straight into the national team camp as Nigeria begins its journey to the AFCON 2027 finals.
