In a live Sunday service at the church camp in Asese, on Sunday, Pastor Oyakhilome addressed the incident, saying: βNothing happens in the life of a child of God by chance. During the bombing incident in Ikeja cantonment in 2001, the building shook violently and we thought it would collapse. I thought that if the house fell down, I would build a bigger and better house. In the end, the building didn’t collapse, and we called engineers to see if there was a need to tear it down and rebuild, but the building was still fine.β
He continued, βNow that this has happened, we will build bigger, better, and nobler, and the devil will lick his wounds.β
The Lagos Fire Service immediately responded to the fire. The cause of the fire is not yet known, but Pastor Oyakhilome’s statement shows that the church is looking to the future and is planning to rebuild and expand its headquarters.
The fire incident has sparked a lot of reactions on social media, with many church members and sympathizers expressing their support and encouragement to the church leadership.
