Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) Plc on Wednesday announced a review of electricity tariff increases for Band A customers.
Acting Managing Director (IBEDC) Francis Agoha, stated that the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission approved the tariff increase from N206.80/kWh to N209.50/kWh for users in the category.
A public notice signed by Agoha said rates for Bands B, C, D and E remain unchanged.
The statement read: βWith immediate effect, the tariff will be adjusted from N206.80/kWh to N209.50/kWh. This review has been approved by the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) as contained in the multi-year tariff supplementary order.

βThis adjustment is necessary due to several key economic indicators, including exchange rate fluctuations, current inflation rates, available generation capacity, and gas costs. These factors have had a significant impact on operating costs, and the new tariffs will ease these financial pressures while still delivering high-quality electricity service.
βIt is important to note that this adjustment only applies to Band A customers. Rates for Bands B, C, D, and E remain unchanged. We remain committed to providing reliable and efficient electricity services to all our customers across the bands.
βWe understand that any rate changes can be a concern for our customers, and we assure you that these adjustments are necessary to maintain and improve the quality of our service. Our goal is to ensure that you receive the best value for your money.β
