The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arrested a man, Nuhu Ezra, for allegedly trading human body parts in Abuja.
Ezra, a resident of Gosa Kipikipi Village, Lugbe, was allegedly arrested with human skulls and bones on July 9, 2024, at about 9pm by officers from the Iddo police division.
According to police, Ezra intended to sell the human remains for N600,000.
FCT Police Public Relations Officer, Josephine Adeh confirmed the arrests in a statement on Wednesday, while appealing to residents to be vigilant and report any suspicious activities.

“The suspect, Nuhu Ezra, stated that he retrieved the human skull and bones from the bush while hunting in Kuje. He intended to sell them for N600,000,” Adeh said.
FCT Commissioner of Police Benneth Igweh has ordered a thorough investigation to determine the source of the human body parts, the intended buyers and how long Ezra was involved in the alleged business. The suspect is currently in police custody and will be charged to court once investigations are complete.
Police are working to uncover the circumstances surrounding the illegal trade and ensure justice is served. The incident has raised concerns about the illegal trade in human organs in the area, and residents are urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to authorities.
