Worst fighting game I ever bought was "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tournament Fighters" for the Sega Genesis.
The SNES and NES versions are fine, but the game for the Genesis was hot garbage. Sluggish controls, impossible combos, an insanely difficult learning curve, pathetically limited character selection, and worst of all, it was just plain BORING. I'd rather play any TMNT brawler than stick this crap cartridge in my Genesis again.
I'm not astonished at the number of people who never saw it in an arcade.
My local arcade had it but SF2 showed up and…
Have you tried Rise of the Robots for snes?
Are you saying Street Fighter 2 the animated movie is a “snag”?
Retsu did eventually show up again in SF6's World Tour mode. And Mike was supposed to be Balrog/M. Bison but that was scrapped (THIS IS WHAT I HEARD, THIS IS HEARSAY! EDIT: AND I WAS WRONG!).
WHAT STRENGTH. BUT DON'T FORGET, THERE ARE MANY GUYS LIKE YOU ALL OVER THE WORLD.
Remember playing this as a child abd making it to Sagat… praying for a fireball that never came. Thought I didn't know how to produce them… turns out the game didn't either.
It was different back then
This is the only game I played that made me genuinely angry. I kept playing this game over and over, but the broken controls, massive difficulty, and stiff gameplay kept getting the best of me.
"You've got a lot to learn be-forrr you beat me. Try again ki, heh heh heh heh."
Got sick of hearing that quickly.
Funny that the first game in a fighting game series as iconic and beloved as Street Fighter is hot trash.
I love how Ultra Vortek was apparently so forgettable that it's been missing from the tier list since more than a couple episodes ago.
I will not accept any Retsu slander after world tour
super street fighter is in my top 3 favorite games of all time. within the past couple of years i played this on console and i just couldnt get into it. very tedious. with the technology available in 87 i think capcom bit off more then they could chew. but would pay off in epic sized dividends some years later
I bumped into this after SF2 came out and figured I’d give it a try. I’m glad it was made in the late eighties because this never would’ve gotten a sequel today.
U had to have been there, Kung Fu Master, Bomb Jack, Vigilante, Double Dragon & Street Fighter were Arcade bliss back in the days.
Played this back in the day at the local arcade. Definitely some of the worst controls of all time.
PLEASE DO shadow war of succession
my old, long closed local cinema had a couple arcade machines and big punchable button street fighter was in the rotation.
the buttons do not make it any funner to play. it also didn't help i had been playing street fighter 2 since i was like, 3.
Rise of the robots is the worst fighting game
I always wondered growing up why I never heard of Street Fighter 1. Now I know.
Hey man, Eagle's theme goes hard >:(
The best (modern) way to play SF1, is through the Arcade Mode on SF5.
I knew a guy who could beat this game on one quarter. This game was extremely sought out in my neighborhood once SF 2 dropped. It pretty much disappeared from the arcades. It wasn't until the early 2000s when it was released for PC that I got to play it again.
Anyone ever mention Strip Fighter 2 on Turbografx?
Also i don't think my posts from yesterday stayed up. A few others:
Super Fighter on PC
Fatal Challenge on PC
Dong Dong Never Die on PC
If you think this is bad…….i played the pc port of it. It was even worse
I played sf1 back then and didn't dislike it. But I hated Rise of Robots and bought it solely for Brian May soundtrack
No, it's never quite as good as its sequel and all, but at least it is responsible for dawning one of the greatest fighting series.
