British-Nigerian businessman and social media influencer Igho “Tiny” Ubiribo, popularly known as Denisi or Ego, has died after a penis enlargement procedure in Thailand was linked to a fatal pulmonary embolism.
Ubiribo, 43, underwent a cosmetic procedure at an unnamed clinic in Bangkok in March, where about 40 milliliters of hyaluronic acid and lidocaine were reportedly injected into his penis.
Evidence presented at an inquest at Inner West London Coroners’ Court revealed the procedure was followed by a medical emergency which ultimately caused his death.
The businessman was traveling to Thailand on a luxury holiday with his wife Danielle Simba Allen when he decided to undergo the cosmetic treatment.
Medical emergency after the procedure
After the procedure, Ubiribo and his wife would go for a massage. During the session he began to complain of chest pain before collapsing twice.
He was later taken by ambulance to Sukhumvit Hospital, where he was initially conscious and able to answer questions.
His wife allegedly informed medical staff that he had recently undergone a penis enlargement procedure that involved injections of fillers.
However, Ubiribo lost consciousness before doctors could complete a recommended CT scan to determine the cause of his condition.
Doctors eventually diagnosed him with pulmonary embolism, a potentially life-threatening condition in which a blood clot or other material blocks blood flow to the lungs.
Despite efforts to save him, his condition worsened and he was transferred to the intensive care unit.
CPR performed for more than 100 minutes
Medical personnel reportedly performed CPR on Ubiribo for more than 100 minutes in an attempt to revive him.
However, prolonged efforts were unsuccessful and he died in the early hours of March 6.
A subsequent post-mortem examination conducted in the UK found cellular material in her lungs that was consistent with the hyaluronic acid used during the cosmetic procedure.
The discovery became a key part of the evidence presented at the inquest into his death.
Coroner links treatment to death
At the conclusion of the inquest, Coroner Jean Harkin ruled that the cosmetic treatment had caused the pulmonary embolism that ultimately led to Ubiribo’s death.
The ruling linked the fatal medical complication directly to the procedure performed in Bangkok.
Ubiribo had built a significant following on social media, with around 185,000 followers on Instagram, where he often documented his lavish lifestyle and travels.
He was also known as a businessman with properties in both Los Angeles and London.
Marriage and public life
Ubiribo married fashion designer and socialite Danielle Simba Allen in a lavish ceremony held in Zimbabwe in 2022.
The couple had continued to maintain a high-profile lifestyle, often sharing aspects of their lives and travels with followers on social media.
His death has since drawn attention to the potential dangers associated with cosmetic procedures, particularly treatments involving injectable fillers.
The circumstances of his death were formally examined at the London inquest, where evidence of his treatment, subsequent medical emergency and post-mortem findings were considered before the coroner reached his conclusion.
