Actress Mo Bimpe reacts to viral video with Jide Awobona

Nollywood actress Mo Bimpe has responded to backlash over a viral video showing her interacting with fellow actor Jide Awobona at a party, insisting that it was simply a friendly conversation and posed no threat to her marriage.

The actress addressed the controversy in an Instagram Story on Sunday after the short clip attracted public attention and sparked discussions about her relationship with her husband.

Bimpe said the minute-long video had been subjected to unnecessary analysis, stressing that his interaction with Awobona was a normal conversation between friends.

According to the actress, she found it fascinating that an ordinary interaction could become suspicious in the eyes of some audience members.

She questioned the tendency to interpret every interaction between married people and members of the opposite sex as a potential threat to their relationships.

Bimpe argues that different marriages operate on different foundations and that his is built on trust, friendship, respect and confidence rather than suspicion.

He said the reaction to the video revealed more about the type of relationships some people are accustomed to than about the nature of his marriage.

The actress also stressed that not all marriages are toxic, noting that healthy relationships still exist despite the negative experiences some people may have had.

She said her husband is a confident man who understands the nature of her relationships with friends and colleagues in the entertainment industry.

Bimpe added that a brief conversation with a family friend should not be construed as something that could jeopardize his marriage.

“My husband is a safe man; a brief conversation with a family friend does not threaten our marriage or justify anyone’s concern,” she said.
