ADC confirmed Isa Ashiru as Kaduna governor candidate

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) Appellate Committee has upheld the results of the governorship primary election in Kaduna State and confirmed Isa Ashiru as the elected candidate.

This was disclosed by the Secretary of the Committee, Mr Mikailu Barau, at a press conference at the ADC State Secretariat in Kaduna, Tuesday.

Barau said the committee had reviewed the petition and found no basis to change the results of the primary election.

The committee also urged the party’s National Secretariat to gather all candidates for high-ranking positions to conduct political negotiations and build consensus aimed at strengthening party unity ahead of the 2027 elections.

“His Excellency Isa Ashiru remains the winner and ADC governorship candidate for Kaduna State based on the results compiled by the election committee,” Barau said.

He further advised the party leadership to set up a restructured appeals committee to ensure broader stakeholder involvement and proper reporting procedures.
