ADC postpones collection of presidential primary results

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has postponed the collection of results of the presidential primary elections.

Announcing the postponement late on Tuesday, Presidential Primary Election Committee Chairman Chief Ikechi Emenike said the decision was to allow Muslim party members to celebrate Eid-el-Kabir.

Emenike said the collection for the remaining states would begin around 8pm on Wednesday, explaining that some officials who repatriated the affected people had flight problems to Abuja.

“We are postponing the gathering to enable our brothers and sisters to celebrate Sallah and participate in religious activity and to enable returning officers who had flight problems to arrive in Abuja today,” Emenike said.
